The Know Your Buddy Tag || Secrets, surprises and a very special bookworm

Today’s post is going to feature: 1) a very special bookworm 2) the many differences between soup and cereal.

And other things too obviously, but these are the HIGHLIGHTS.

So, about that special bookworm we were talking about? YES. I SHALL COME TO THAT. Patience, my olives, PATIENCE! We first need to talk about how I have successfully regained my title as the Queen of Fantasy by unapologetically gobbling up all the fantasy books in sight. OH AND ALSO MY NEW-FOUND OBSESSION WITH GANSEY IS WORTH MENTIONING (but I think I have already screamed about the raven boys here, SO THAT SHALL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I HAVE ENOUGH SENSE TO WRITE A REVIEW) and O K A Y, I think it’s pretty obvious that my attempts at creating suspense are on the verge of miserable failure and since I have ALSO ran out of things to say (I MEAN WE COULD ALWAYS SCREAM ABOUT THE RAVEN BOYS SOME MORE but you probably do not want that) we shall begin.

Today you are witnessing the unfolding of a magnificent event in history, one that shall be remembered for many years after and shall be talked about for centuries to come. *cue excited gasps from the audience* Today is the first time that Dipped In Ink features a collaboration post, and that too with none other than – RACHEL FROM A BOOKWORM’S PARADISE (aka aforementioned bookworm, if that wasn’t already obvious)! We are going to do the Know your Buddy Tag together because we are cool little olives like that! (AND YES, I AM VERY MUCH EXCITED (i love rachel’s blog) AND HAVE ALREADY SCREAMED MY THROAT HOARSE, but we do not talk about that)

What you see below are all of Rachel’s answers to my questions, while my answers can be found in a post on her blog here. ALL THE FORMALITIES OUT OF THE WAY, WE PROCEED. BUT WITH CAUTION. (because rachel has a tendency of being evil sometimes, I’M JUST WARNING)

What is your favorite blog post of mine and why?

Wait are we starting with the most difficult questions? I do usually believe in getting over with the hard stuff first, but can you promise me that the rest of the questions are going to be easy? Can you? No really, it’s so hard to choose a favourite post because literally all your posts are amazing! But since I’ve to choose one, I’d go with your December tbr post because the urgency to read everything before the year ends was so relatable, and ALL. THE. GRAPHICS.

What would you like to be known for – your name or your Blog name?

I wouldn’t mind either of them because the “being known” part sounds like an attractive notion enough haha. On second thought, if I am getting a choice, why don’t I use it and go for my name instead of my blog’s name because the former is not something that is going to change very soon, or like ever.

If you had to swap niches, which niche would you change to?

It’s pretty close to what I already blog about (books), but I think if I had to change, I could blog about writing? Like maybe post some of my own pieces of poetry and talk about my novel, or about writers in general.

What is the weirdest comment you have ever gotten about your blog?

I do get the occasional spam comments, but nothing “weird” as such. That’s my trademark after all.

Do you think cereal is soup? why or why not?

(I have a sneaking suspicion that the ulterior motive of this question was for me to have an existential crisis but I refuse to do so. Ha. Joke’s on you.)
No cereal is not soup because soup is soup. And cereal is not.
Clearly I have strong (and baseless) opinions regarding this so let’s move on before the situation escalates and we have to call a fire brigade. Or an ambulance. (what can I say, my knuckles can hurt)

If you had a controller that has the power to rewind or fast forward, which one would you press on WordPress?

While I desperately would like to press rewind and lecture past-Rachel on how things should be done, I’m also excited to see where this blog would be a few years from now. So this is tough. (what is not, Rachel? What is not?) You know what, let’s go with fast forward on a whim.

Your blog is chosen to sponsor a charity. If funds were not an issue, which charity or issue would your blog choose to support?

I’m a huge environmentalist so maybe something to do with that. More specifically, it could be something dedicated to animals or protecting forests or something.

If you two were to be buddy characters in a movie, which characters would you be and why?

Mike and Sullivan from Monsters University maybe? (oops were the characters supposed to be human? welp)

Which is the most boring part of posting blog posts for you, or what part of posting a blog are you laziest about doing?

Adding links, pictures and all that (otherwise known as the icing on the cake). I usually leave them for the end, after I’ve written the entire post, but sometimes I feel too lazy and keep putting it off for days.

What are the unwritten rules of your blog?

No negativity (because we have enough of that in the real world), something new and original in every post (you’d be bored otherwise, right?), and obviously not forgetting our dear parentheses (aw there you are).

If you could transform into any animal, what would it be and why?

Make no mistake, I love animals. I run faster than a scared cheetah when a stray dog happens to bark at me, but that’s another matter entirely and we are going to ignore that.
Where was I anyway? Yes, I love animals, but I’d much rather stay human. I have no fondness of being sacrificed for the good of the ecosystem, thank you.

If your blog had a superpower/magical element, what would it be?

How wonderful would it be if my blog could somehow channel my exact thoughts and feelings while reading a book from my brain to the screen? It’d make reviewing so much more efficient.

What reminds you of me?

Well your blog obviously. Other than that, writing, because you’re the first person I ever shared my wip with.

If you were given the power to exchange blogs for a day, which thing will you change or adapt first?

Oh no absolutely nothing. I am extremely jealous of how everything about your website from the design to the content, is so amazing.

What new username would you give to my blog?

I like Anoushka and I’ve currently run out of better names so that’s the way it’s gonna stay.

Do YOU think cereal is soup? Why or why not (I think you’d better have the good sense of saying no if you care even the littlest bit about your life, but HEY the decision is yours) An animal you might like to someday transform into? A SUPERPOWER YOU WISH YOUR BLOG POSESSED?? One of the weirdest comments you’ve ever read?

  1. Yay I’m glad you’ve got back into fantasy books! Going to go and check out your answers in a minute. And cant wait to finally read Raven Boys at some point this year. Although I do need to wait…at least for now as I seriously need to focus on books I own for a while ?
Ooh I love seeing people share their own writing…although I’d definitely be terrified to do so. Its always fun learning about everyone’s wips as well.
I don’t think I’ve had any weird comments either really, besides the usual spam ones. And omg yes, adding images to posts is hard!! I don’t find links too bad – except from when they only paste to half of what they should and you have to do it again – but finding gifs can take forever. Why is it so hard???

    1. AHHH THANK YOU!! YES, YOU DO NEED TO READ RAVEN BOYS! I really hope you LOVE it when you get to it!
YES AGREED! it definitely is very scary, but also like reading someone else’s wip is SO EXCITING?!!

right? AH the gif one – YES, same! the reason i never add gif’s in posts. searching for them requires so much patience and i just don’t have it, BUT THEY ALSO LOOK SO GOOD *confusion*
thanks so much for reading Charlotte!! ❤❤

      1. Thank you. I hope so too. And have no idea how I’d even admit it if I didn’t as the series is so, so popular!!
Yeah it’s wonderful seeing how creative everybody’s ideas are!

I’ve literally spent hours trying to find them before. I never seem to know what to search for. No idea how some people find so many for every post.
        ❤❤

    2. AHHH THANK YOU!! YES, YOU DO NEED TO READ RAVEN BOYS! I really hope you LOVE it when you get to it!

  2. ooh, i love this post!!! i completely agree with Rachel on the superpowers answer aah!
ALSO I REALLY NEED TO READ RAVEN CYCLE NOW, DON’T I? (please don’t kill me, i promise i’ll get to it in may aah!)
also also uh, HOW IS SOUP AND CEREAL EVEN REMOTELY THE SAME ANOUSHKA HOW?? in order to annoy you, i shall say that SOUP=CEREAL MWHAHAHA
asdfghjkl i love your “let’s chat” graphic btw!
also also also i lovee your dramatics and “WHICH FANTASY BOOKS DID YOU READ I NEED RECS PLEASE” i say as my 1000+tbr glares at me.
this comment is all over the place lmao. anyways i’m off to read your responses now!

  3. I am still in desperate need of that self-writing blog superpower ? Ahhhh, just imagine all the extra time we would have for reading if we didn’t have to overthink every letter that went into our posts for about ten minutes!!! **stares dreamily into space**

And hahaha, I love Rachel’s answer that weird is her own brand so that she doesn’t need weird comments ? (Also, it makes me very relieved that my own comments apparently still came across as sane enough to not be considered weird ?)

And NO, CEREAL IS NOT SOUP. I can’t believe there are actually people out there who think this, but yes, they exist. My own brother is one of them ? I have not been able to convince him otherwise. I am a failure ?

    Great post, guys!

  4. Rachel’s answer to the super power question is *chef’s kiss*. Desperately in need of the talent being the terrible writer I am. And I really like this post! Will check out her blog.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, NO, SOUP IS NOT CEREAL. CEREAL US LESS TASTIER THAN SOUP.

    Brilliant post, you both!
(And I’ll be checking out her blog and your interview after this)

  5. Ahh WordPress hates me and did not notify of the post earlier *stupid wordpress* but anyways I loved rereading this SO SO MUCH! AND YES OMG RAVEN BOYS WAS SO GOOD AND I’M OBSESSED WITH EVERYONE ALREADY. I have a particular sweet spot for Noah because of that plot twist though :,) .
cereal is definitely NOT soup. I wonder who even had that thought ?
And ahh agreeing with Rachel on the links one! It takes FOREVER and kills me all the time ??
    Adored reading this post!!✨?

  6. I love this tag and cereal is not soup. It just isn’t!! I struggle to find any points for it being soup!! I LOVE the blogging super power because describing thoughts after finishing a book is soooo hard at times. Honestly I never feel like I get all my thoughts down!! It is a power for those who do it!! I love the blogging rule of no negatively because there is enough in the real world because true and I love how blogging is a positive space for us all. We all need a positive place!! I love this tag, so cute and fun!! ??

  7. COOL POST! Your answers were soo hilarious and Rachel loll you two! Your blog never fails to make me laugh. Rachel’s “and obviously not forgetting our dear parentheses (aw there you are).” was hilarious!
Of course cereal isn’t soup how is this even a question. First of all, soup, by Merriam Webster is a liquid food especially with a meat, fish, or vegetable stock as a base and often containing pieces of solid food. 2 : something (such as a heavy fog or nitroglycerine) having or suggesting the consistency or nutrient qualities of soup.
Now, as anyone can see cereal doesn’t share any of these properties, it’s milk-that contains cacium, fats and some minerals+carbs+sugar
Soup contains vegetable and maybe meat vitamins and minerals. A person claiming no difference between a soup and a cereal is an entirely ridiculous person with no sense of dignity whatsoever.
Well, i wish I was a kitten with a sense of processing Hindi and English because: a) No real life social interaction needed b)Run away from places when they seem boring without any explanation c)FLUFF d)flex on how one can jump off from huge heights e) Hold magical powers on the tip of my nose(yes cats have those) f)read because I am an exceptional kitten g)write by carving wood using my claws i)scratch the paparazzi after they come chasing a writer kitten
    j) kittens are flawless and so on
A superpower I wish my blog possessed? Getting the exact feature image I had in my mind set on each post because I have THE hardest time searching for the perfect picture. Oh and also smell of flowers and coffee and books!
My blog has thankfully very nice comments from people (the comments are few but no we’re not going there) I may/may not have cried at the niceness of these comments.
I will see myself out now.
