2021 Wrapped Up in Books || Stats + Pie Charts + I steal some questions and answer them + Some excited screaming because isn’t that what i do??

There are extremely FEW reasons why the year end is a GOOD time for a bookworm.

Most of the time you can find them crying in dark corners and complaining about unread releases to dusty curtains and also attempting to conquer TBRs despite all the efforts made of convincing them to do the contrary. However, since we are trying to be oPtIMiStIc here, some reasons why bookworms can be happy creatures even during year ends:

  • THEY ARE JUST GENERALLY OPTMISTIC BEANS and love to rub it in our faces (#rude)
  • They have managed to conquer their TBR??!! (WHAT THE HELL GIVE ME YOUR SECRETS)
  • There is a 2022 release they are dying for and can finally stop dying a little because WE’RE GETTING CLOSER
  • Goals are generally acknowledged AMAZING LITTLE CREATURES and they love making it and screaming and failing and then crying (but we’re still at the SCREAMING so its fine)
  • Currently reading the raven boys and loving it and also letting it slowly steal their soul while they’re too busy day dreaming about Gansey instead of paying attention in Biology (oops)
  • eating bucketloads of olives (IN WHICH CASE I ENVY YOU)
  • OR STUFFING THEIR MOUTHS WITH CAKES AND CHOCOLATES AND CANDY CANES THAT I COULD NOT STEAL BECAUSE MY MUM WOULDN’T LET ME LEAVE THE HOUSE AFTER MIDNIGHT
  • Yeah well a short list. But let’s proceed now before the dragons among us get bored and accidentally burn the screen in annoyance.

I read a total of 90 books this year (my goal was 100 and YES, i failed pretty miserably, O K A Y). But my failure isn’t even the highlight. It is REALLY overshadowed by the fact that I discovered something HUGE and HEART-BREAKING and BASICALLY THAT DISCOVERY DESTROYED MY LIFE but – I FOUND OUT THAT I AM A HUGE CONTEMPORARY GAL AND LOVE TO DEVOUR THEM AND HAVE BEEN DOING THAT A LOT LATELY! So that means I also ended up betraying Fantasy (WHICH I STILL LOVE, DON’T WORRY) but like I never though I would love contemporary so much, but apparently I do??

moving on to the graphs and stats (SAYING I WAS WAITING FOR THIS EVER SINCE I STARTED BLOGGING DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE MY UTTER EXCITEMENT, OKAY)

HA! Look how I still ace it with the fantasy?! WE CALL IT LOYALTY

This very much shows how much of an uncommitted bookworm I am. I READ ONLY 3 BOOKS WITH MORE THAN 500 PAGES???! *runs*

Anoushka’s Spirit: Ayy, my mistress is a coward. Don’t mind it, I SERVE BETTER.
Anoushka: *screams* get away, evil spirit of mine. get away NOW. Before there is bloodshed
Anoushka’s Spirit: …so, where were we? RIGHT! I have an announcement to make. *clears throat* I have succeeded and am now officially being labeled the owner –
Anoushka: *stabs said spirit of hers*
Anoushka: *cackles evilly* *grins* The lesson. Is to never mess. With my blog.

SERIES STILL OVERPOWER AND I BOW DOWN TO THEM SO AS NOT TO BE TORTURED BY THE EVIL GHOSTS OF REGRETS FOR NOT ACING THAT TBR BEFORE IT KILLED ME
i discovered so many new books this year, all of my old favorites were forgotten *sobs* So rude of the blogosphere to introduce me to so many amazing books like that *glares*
THE LIBRARY IS MY LIFE AND I OWE IT EVERYTHING
i survived off of ebooks this year because the library was open on and off year round, and NO REGRETS (my eyes disagree)

I doubt this even comes as a surprise at this point?? I READ TONS OF YA AND AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT. And also a considerable amount of MG but… i didn’t enjoy them as much?? I MEAN OBVIOUSLY, THERE’S SOME THAT OWN MY HEART (i still remember you PJO!) but then others were just meh, and some i hated (from the desk of zoe washington)

i had so many 4 stars which i am extremely happy about but also so many 2 stars?? I ALSO HAD 10 FIVE STAR READS AND THAT’S NICE

now come the questions. so, i know i said how i stole them in the title but that isn’t exactly what happened (YES, IT WAS FOR DRAMATIC PURPOSES ONLY BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES THAT) I am linking up with the Annual End Of Year Survey (2020 version) by Perpetual Page Turner and using some of their questions. PROCEED.

Best Book You Read In 2021?

Hahahaha – the most feared question that everyone dreads answering. i shall be brave. i shall be brave. and break some rules. and name 5… or 8?

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)
Not My Problem
Only Mostly Devastated
The Traitor's Game (The Traitor's Game, #1)
Eliza and Her Monsters
Geekerella (Once Upon a Con, #1)
We Were Liars
Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1)

DO NOT JUDGE ME. or the fact that the number of contemporary books on this list is far more than the number of fantasy. i still get to be queen OKAY?

Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t

this is a… weird question. but do all bookworms not pick up every single book they read based mainly on the hope that they will love it to the ends of the world and beyond the opening of the black nebula and get obsessed and keep screaming about it until no more ears remain to scream off? Or no more people remain to scream the ears off of? So every single book that DID NOT blow away me away the way I had hoped (*cue nervous laughter* THAT would be… too many *sobs*) I’ll just put in some of THE WORST.

From the Desk of Zoe Washington
The Wishing Spell (The Land of Stories, #1)
The False Prince (Ascendance, #1)
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow

Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

fairest and heartless. see, villain backstories and me? WE LOVE EACH OTHER TOO MUCH. But after the disappointment that was cinder, i had… not expected to love either of these as much?? especially heartless because I HATE Alice in Wonderland (HEY, PUT THAT DAGGER DOWN) and moreover, the beginning just… didn’t grab me. So I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TO WAKE UP 4 DAYS LATER TO hear myself screaming at the mirror about how it should take up reading heartless as an amazing side hobby. in a bad way? well it was the false prince. I HAD READ SUCH AMAZING REVIEWS ABOUT PEOPLE GUSHING ON GOODREADS, but I realized – i realized GOODREADS LIES. I’ve never hated a fantasy book more (i mean except cursed child obviously, but we do not exactly call that a BOOK. its more like a TERRIBLE jumble of destroyed charcters and unskilled writing and many abominations so NOT A BOOK *glares*).

Heartless
Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5)
The False Prince (Ascendance, #1)
The Runaway King (Ascendance, #2)

Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

i… do not push people to read books. except my sister obviously. and my mom and friends and classmates and random strangers walking down the street and papayas (don’t worry, i only reserve the worst books for them) and i VAGUELY remember having a very interesting conversation with an apple one day over how i need to visit Weep and adopt lazlo (THE CONVERSATION WAS VERY ONE-SIDED UNFORTUNATELY) and also with a neighborhood dog and – oops. REALIZATION is sad.

To answer the question – I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF MYSELF FOR TORTURING MY SISTER INTO READING (AND LOVING) PERCY JACKSON. I have also been known to scream about how Not my Problem needs to go up on the list of the world’s seven wonders in people’s comments and recommending it to everyone in sight (if you were victim of said pushing, I APOLOGIZE)

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)
Front Desk (Front Desk, #1)
The Traitor's Game (The Traitor's Game, #1)
Not My Problem

Best series you started in 2021?

I… have a confession to make. No, not the fact that i ended up accidentally killling the fly outside my window last night, THAT IS SECRET BECAUSE I DO NOT LIKE HAVING THE REPUTATION OF A MURDERER so shhhh. It’s that I haven’t read many series this year. DAGGERS DOWN! And all the very few that i have read, i finished (YES, I ACCEPT ALL THE SWEETS AND YOUR PLEDGE OF FRIENDSHIP, DEAR OLIVE, I THANK YOU) Strange the dreamer is one that i haven’t yet completed, BUT I DEFINITELY NEED TO, because Lazlo is always welcome and i need more backstory about his broken nose. Also more gorgeous writing! I NEED

Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1)
The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)
Dust (Heirs of Neverland, #1)
Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)

Most unputdownable book of the year?

every single contemporary book ever. i admit, i may or may not have gotten terribly obsessed at some point and read eliza and her monsters in a day and thrown away every single assignment just to read the henna wars and gush over it all (yes, i got in A LOT of trouble after that for all that abandoned homework, the world DOES NOT UNDERSTAND)

Eliza and Her Monsters
The Henna Wars
Murder at the Vicarage (Miss Marple, #1)
One of Us Is Lying (One of Us is Lying, #1)

Most memorable character of 2021?

percy jackson because MAN, THE HUMOR. AND RIPTIDE. and percy is just awesome, OKAY? we can duel if you disagree, tomorrow in my yard if it isn’t dewy out and the dragons i have been smuggling are still asleep. But he’s very closely tied with Aideen AND Eliza and then also ollie (HE’S SO FUNNY AND AMAZING AND INNOCENT AND MY HEART- )

Percy Jackson
Not My Problem
Aideen Cleary
Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales
Ollie

Most beautifully written book read in 2021?

STRANGE THE DREAMER BUT ALSO ELIZA AND HER MONSTERS. Both of them are GORGEOUS IDOLS OF PERFECTION THAT I SHALL WORSHIP FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

Book That Shocked You The Most

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)

RED QUEEN. I was not okay. I was not one bit okay. That ending – it – it – IT WAS NOT OKAY. THERE’S A LIMIT TO WHICH PLOT TWISTS ARE SUPOSSED TO DESTROY HUMANS. this book gladly crossed that limit by a few million miles and DID NOT EVEN BOTHER APOLOGIZING. I swear i had half a mind to hurl it into outer space while screaming until the pages fell off, but i couldn’t because: 1) LIBRARY BOOK, MY TERRIBLE LUCK 2) there were people over there, and i did not want to be labelled a lunatic, THANK YOU.

OTP of the year (you will go down with this ship!)

LUKE AND JULIE PLS, I WILL DIE FOR THEM. technically they aren’t book characters, BUT I SHALL CHEAT instead of feeling guilty for the next century and a half. i ship them so hard, it hurts. But Percabeth is a very close second.

Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

City of shattered light. Everything about it just SCREAMS beauty. The setting is so vivid and stunningly gorgeous, it took my breath away and left me in need of breathing lessons, I TELL YOU. Riven is queen and i shall forever be loyal to her and I AM DYING TO GET MY HANDS ON THE SEQUEL please i need it.

City of Shattered Light

Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

PRITI AND NISHAT (from the henna wars) because the sibling relationship just melts my heart and also AINSLEY AND DARCY (from Perfect on paper) because they remind me so much of me and my sister, its not even funny okay. I have stolen so many things from my sister over the years I FEEL PROUD and also all the rest of it too, VERY RELATABLE.

Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)
Geekerella (Once Upon a Con, #1)
Not My Problem
Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales

THEY WERE ALL STUNNING MASTERPIECES AND I GREATLY APPRECIATE THEM FOR IT.

Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2021?

not my problem – yeah, i have no idea why. go away and don’t you dare ask me any more. only mostly devastated – I LOVE OLLIE AND SEEING HIS SADNESS WAS JUST – . We were liars – I did not cry per se (there was just something in my eyes OKAY), but i was miserable for a week after.

Not My Problem
Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales
Girl in the Blue Coat
We Were Liars

Hidden Gem Of The Year?

not my problem. DEFINITELY. that book deserves the world and all the love it can possibly get. GO READ IT AND THEN COME OVER, WE CAN FANGIRL TOGETHER.

City of Shattered Light
Girl in the Blue Coat
The Night Diary

Book That Crushed Your Soul?

The Deceiver's Heart (The Traitor's Game, #2)

the deceiver’s heart. i did not know books could crush your soul and steal a little part of it for their own and then just leave without even asking for forgiveness, cackling evilly. i was innocent and little and did not know stuff back then. but then came along the deceiver’s heart, and IT TORTURED MY POOR SOUL. I hate it for doing that (I LOVE MY SOUL, OKAY) but i also secretly love it because I’VE NEVER READ ANYTHING BEFORE THAT IS SUCH NEXT-LEVEL PERFECTION I AM NOT OKAY.

How was 2021 for you?? Favorite books?? Authors?? Biggest disappointments and surprises? Books that made you cry or tore your soul into pieces??? New year goals??? WHAT’S YOUR GOODREADS READING GOAL FOR 2022? Hidden gems of 2021?? Also, LINK ME TO YOUR YEARLY WRAP UPS because my reader was overfilled and i lost track sorry! Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. Lovely post…really enjoyed reading it!!!
Not My Problem WAS indeed a stunning masterpiece. It is laugh out loud funny and full of heart – a coming of age novel that will stay with you long after the final page.

  2. I loved (and laughed out loud) when you described cheating on fantasy with contemporary hahaha I love both genres and it’s really just a big mood thing for me. I think you’ll manage to balance just fine 😉
Also, suuuuper happy to see Geekerella and We Were Liars among your faves. I still remember really liking the first Red Queen book. Your shock is valid haha I never finished the series though, it just sort of fizzled out for me unfortunately.

    1. AHHH SO RUDE OF YOU TO LAUGH AT THE MANY TROUBLES IN MY LIFE LIKE THAT (kidding) but THANK YOU!
AHHH YES! I haven’t finished the series either actually? I dnf-ed the 3rd book because it kind of went VERY downhill from the second book onwards imo. Till which book have you read?
Thanks so, so much for reading!

      1. So very sorry about that hahaha
I didn’t like the second book, kind of got back into the third and I think I own the fourth, but I never read it. There was just something off after the first book and I didn’t have fun with it anymore.

        1. AS YOU SHOULD BE ??
YES EXACTLY! the characters changed a LOT and not in a good way after the 1st book and that was really sad since they were all such amazing creatures in the first one

    1. YESSSSSSS!!! (but i didn’t like the second and third book as much though haha ??) BUT I’M SO GLAD YOU LOVE IT!!

AWESOME DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT, but I cannot wait to hear what you think!
Thank you! happy new year to you too, hope 2022 is treating you well so far! ❤❤

  3. I LOVEEE the raven boys I finished that series in 2 days it was sooo addictive
also I legit just read contemporary and fantasy and I didnt read any 500 page books last year (hides in shame)
Red Queen is SOOO good sadly I havent finished the series yet I just read Red Queen
Percabeth for lyfee but solangelo is also just as cuteee
Also what did you use to get these cool stats

    1. AHHHH I AM SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT! And i also envy you for being able to do that, I’ve been reading it so slow because exams are killing me, BUT I NEED MORE. Fantasy and contemporary are AMAZING GENRES so you need not hide, okay?
YES IT IS! I have only read the 1st and 2nd one, and it kind of goes downhill from the second onwards in my opinion? SO I DON’T THINK YOU’RE MISSING MUCH!
YES! Okay now I also need to read the rest of Rick Riordan’s books for solangelo!
I used Visme! And thanks so much for reading! ❤

      1. Ooo Yus school does tend to get in the way of reading ? Fantasy and contemporary FOREVER
You should definitely read all Rick Riordan’s book

  4. ANOUSHKA! AND HERE I THOUGHT I WAS REIGNING SUPREME WITH END OF YEAR STATS but yours is *chef’s kiss*
And yes I discovered (albeit very late) that I’m a contemporary person too! (but its important to keep fantasy happy, so I can’t completely switch over)
I very graciously accept your apology because i was one of those who read not my problem on your persuasion and now it lives rent free in my mind.
All those not my problem and only mostly devastated mentions killed me a little bit all over again – i love them both so so much!!
here’s the link to my 2021 wrap up – https://abookwormparadise.wordpress.com/2021/12/31/2021-wrap-up-stats-charts-and-reflections-2022-goals/
    here’s to an amazing 2022 ?

    1. RACHEL, YOU KNOW WHAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS IN LIFE? WHEN YOU ACCEPT MY SUPREMACY, SO I THANK YOU FOR DOING THAT! (but ahahahahahah, as much as i HATE to admit it YOUR GRAPHS ARE GORGEOUS AND YOUR POST IS PERFECTION EVERYTHING IS ARRANGED SO NICE AHHHHH)
yes, i completely agree! but contemporary has proven to be very rude like that, making us betray fantasy and risk the wrath of pointed swords and fire-breathing dragon. and i always thought it was sweet and innocent?
HAHAHA, I PRIDE MYSELF IN THAT ACTUALLY.
AYYYYY, YESSSSSS! I AM SO GLAD! those books seriously deserve EVERYTHING!
thank you so much rachel!!! *cheers* here’s to an amazing 2022 for all of us!

  5. This post is so funny oh my gosh!! Also…90 books?!?! That’s incredible! Percy Jackson and Strange the Dreamer AND Heartless are all so so SO good though. And there are very few plot twists that have ever hit me quite as hard as Red Queen because that ending is ILLEGAL. ILLEGAL I TELL YOU. Anyways, wonderful post!?

    1. AHHHHH IT IS MY LIFE’S GREATEST AMBITION TO APPEAR FUNNY, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
right??? I AM SO GLAD YOU LOVE THEM ALL TOO! AND I AM COMPLETELY WITH YOU ON ILLEGAL. IT HAD NO RIGHT!

  6. THESE GRAPHS ARE SO PRETTY WHAT!? and ahh yes same, I mainly read YA books this year, and I’m not at all mad about it lol. AND GEEKERELLA (!!) my fangirl heart EXPLODED reading that, it was *chef’s kiss* (now I have a sudden urge to reread it, thank you for that) and Eliza and her monsters was actually the first young adult book I ever read. I was scared lonely child wandering through the young adult section in the library for the first time in my life, and I couldn’t recognize a single book so I just pick up eliza and her monsters and ran away ? it was an EPIC read though. NIGHT DIARYY YESSS WE SHALL FANGIRL ABOUT TOGETHER NOW . and if percy jackson was the most memorable character of your year, just wait until you get to heroes of olympus, you’ll have so many more amazing characters to fangirl about.(L E O ?)
AWESOME POST ANOUSHKA, loved reading it ?

    1. AHHH THANK YOU!!!!
yes, YA is too good! RIGHT???? SO GLAD TO HEAR IT! YES IT WAS PERFECTION! (i do not know whether to be happy about it, BUT YOU’RE WELCOME!) HAHAHAHHAAHA, YOU HAVE WONDERFUL COINCIDENTAL CHOICES THEN, I MUST SAY!
YES, WE SHALL SCREAM OVER IT TOGETHER FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY! (AND i am very much looking forward to meeting leo!)
THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH SUHANI!!!! ❤❤

  7. this post was so fun to read and THE GRAPHICS wow. how did you make them? if you liked percy jackson, oh just wait until the hereos of olympus!! is strange the dreamer worth it? i’ve seen many mixed reviews. have a great yearrr!

    1. AHH THANK YOU SO MUCH! This one website called Visme!
I love how everyone is getting me so excited for HOO like this, I SHALL DEFINITELY READ IT SOON NOW
I think it depends a lot? Because it is kind of slow at points but the characters are so amazing and the world building is really well crafted, AND YOU SHOULD TOTALLY READ IT JUST FOR THE WRITING TOO IT IS DELICIOUS, I TELL YOU.
Thanks so much Maya, hope 2022 is amazing for you too!! ❤❤

  8. ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND IS AWESOME HOW DARE YOU? Sorry, it’s just, that it’s beautiful okay. And you are ashamed of reading “only 90 books” what? The number of book I read this year is an embarrassing secret that will go down my grave. I wish I was not so conservative and started reading e-books since we’re not getting anywhere near reading more with everything closed. Until I can’t smell the book or stroke it’s spine I can’t read it, plus my eyes would give up.(Still could you drop in the link to this e-library) My favourite read of the year’s gotta be Farhenheit 451 and of course my perpetual reread, Diary Of A Young Girl.(I have a new obsession with Classics now) And yes, Heartless was dissapointing for me as well! (Being the history geek I am I was screaming at the innacuracies of whatever was written on the matter of corsets) But I did relate to baking! (I LOVE BAKING) The most thrillong book of the year had to be “And then there were none” By Agatha Christie. I read The MazeRunnee Series which I truly thank for my annual shredding of soul by books.(Thanks Dashner) Please please please read Diary Of A Young Girl if you haven’t already! And I don’t really have a reading goal except for maybe reading as many classics as I can. Looking forward to reading “Not My Problem” and (Anushka Jain might I remind you this is also “Not your Blogpost”) (Sorry.) Anyways awesome stats, awesome post, my favourite part was when you stabbed your spirit. Thanks fpr this awesome post!

    1. Sorry i’m so late in replying to this!
AHHH, I APOLOGIZE, BUT… I STILL DON’T LIKE IT. ALICE’S CHARACTER JUST ANNOYS ME SO MUCH. lol, i didn’t mean it like that. it’s just I SET MY GOAL TO 150 AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, then reduced it to 100 and still failed so THAT is kind of very humiliating. BUT AHHH, NUMBERS DON’T MATTER OKAY? IT JUST MATTERS THAT YOU HAD FUN! Aaaah, yes, I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT. I’ve kind of always depended majorly on e-books though so I guess i’m very used to it at this point. I hope your library opens up soon! (AND YES ABSOLUTELY! Here’s the link: https://z-lib.org/) AHHHH, I AM IN AWE!!! Classics???? I CAN NEVER GET THROUGH THEM AND STILL END UP LOVING THEM SO MUCH (except anne of green gables and little women THOSE TWO ARE GEMS. have you read them??)
??? i cannot stop laughing over the heartless comment lol
AHHH, THEN I REQUEST SOME CAKE BECAUSE MY BAKING SKILLS ARE PRETTY NON-EXISTENT. also, THAT IS SERIOUSLY SO COOL OKAY! Do you also bake cookies?
annual shredding of soul by books sounds nice, I SHOULD READ THAT ONE TOO THEN!
YES, I HAVE READ DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL. I was quite obsessed with it at some point last year in fact, IT’S ONE OF MY FAVORITES!! I AM SO GLAD TO HEAR YOU LOVE IT TOO!! YES YOU SHOULD TOTALLY READ NOT MY PROBLEM AND THEN WE CAN SCREAM OVER IT TOGETHER!!! No, i absolutely LOVE long comments so much, AND YOURS MADE MY DAY, THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH FOR IT!! Awww, thank you so, so, so much for reading, YOUR COMMENT MADE ME SO HAPPY, TYSM! Good luck on your goals, and hoping 2022 shall be an amazing year for you!! ❤❤

      1. Oh no worries!
I see, the thing is the book is very surreal so it might feel different, BUT I LOVE THAT BOOK ? A HUNDRED AND FIFTY? WHAT? True, we don’t read books to just slash off titles from our TBRs, we do it because it fills us completely and it’s fun. My library? Loll we don’t have public libraries here, only the school ones(the reason I don’t like online school) Oh, I checked that site but they have documents in e-pub? And it isn’t opening? Hehe, classics are slow paced usually so a lot of them are left as incomplete reads but I swear they have a different kind of magic in them. I’ve read Little Women (Not till the end though, because I got distracted with Percy Jackson at that time) I will happily bake you some cake! I have baked an Indian cookie called “Naankhatai” sometimes and it turned out nice. I just love baking soo much!
YES, Maze Runner is awesome, I stole it from my friend and didn’t sleep for at least 2 nights because it was so thrilling! YES! I will forever be obsesssed with diary of a young girl. Yep, gonna read that immediately! So many thank You-s gosh, thanks lol, I guess you’re going to deal with these long comments regularly hehe!
Thanks, I hope the same for you! <3

        1. Ahh I’m so sorry, BUT IM REALLY GLAD YOU LOVE IT!! (and I won’t hold it against you either) YES BECAUSE THEY’RE OUR OXYGEN AND THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE!
Ahh, that’s sad ? Oohhh yes, I forgot to mention (I’m so sorry ?) for pdf versions you’ll have to create an account otherwise if you don’t want to create an account you could download an epub to pdf converter app on your device and use that! (tell me if that doesn’t work, or if you need help with anything else!)
Haha, I won’t blame you for it, because PJO IS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH TOO! And the starting of little women is way better anyway! I kind of got bored by the end.
Ahh I just looked Naankhatai up and they look delicious!!?! AND ITS HONESTLY SO COOL YOU CAN BAKE THEM, IM IN AWE! SO YES I WOULD LOVE THE CAKE AND SOME COOKIES!
Ahhh sleepless nights sound so good ? I shall definitely read it then!! (no but really I NEED books in my life that I just can’t put down though I might have so many already haha) AHHH YESSSS!! Have you read some of the other books about Anne Frank too? Like the biographies written based on her??

Yes, AND I’D LOVE TO DEAL WITH THEM! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ❤️

  9. PIE CHARTS. I LOVE PIE (AND ALSO CHARTS) and olives sjskskdhejsms

I loved reading this post and yess YA is supreme >>>>

    1. I HAVE NEVER TASTED PIE SO I CANNOT AGREE ON THAT (YET) but omg pie charts are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! And olives ahhhhhh I am so glad to meet a fellow olive-lover!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! And yes, IT IS!

      1. fdshskjhfdjfh pies are the absolute best -especially apple ones. hope you get to taste them soon <3
OLIVES ARE SO UNDERRATED. me too!
        <3 <3 have a lovely year anoushka!

  10. i’m obsessed with seeing other people’s reading stats and these graphics are TOP TIER!! & omg same, i always considered myself more of a fantasy fan, but this past year all my favorite books were contemporary or literary fiction,,,like what. ALSO, 90 books is literally amazing i can only WISH to be able to read that many books in a year at some point in my life ? i also loved heartless when i read it, which was surprising because i wasn’t a huge fan of cinder. but i did love her renegades series, so i guess she’s a hit or miss author for me. i really loved reading this post and happy 2022 ?

    1. YES, ME TOO! ahhhh, thank you so, so much aarushi!!! EXACTLY!
THANK YOU!! Okay, can i just take a second here to scream over the fact that i’ve found someone who shares my dislike of cinder too?? like everyone else LOVES it and i’m the lonely one sitting here who didn’t like it BUT NOW I’M NOT ALONE! THANK YOU FOR THAT! AND I SHALL DEFINITELY CHECK OUT RENEGADES THEN! so glad you loved heartless too!!! hope you have an amazing 2022 with loads of new favorites!

  11. You have such a solid book list here. I was disappointed too with The Land of Stories. O guess I was just expecting a higher quality of writing than what I got?

    1. Ahh yes, the writing in that one really didn’t live up right? And the characters kind of ended up being annoying most of the time.
      Thanks so much for reading!

  12. Those graphs ??? Did I ever mention blue is my favorite color? ?
Also, as someone who forced their non-reader brother to read Percy Jackson and fall in love with it, too, I fully approve of your heinous deeds towards your sister ?
Also, yessss, Strange the Dreamer and Eliza and Her Monsters are GORGEOUS!
And my yearly wrap-up posts are currently still ongoing (favorites books are up, least favorites are coming tomorrow, and stats and goals sometime next week), so don’t feel like you’ve missed out – just drop by whenever you feel like it, and if you’re too busy drowning in everybody else’s wrap-ups (like me ??) I also won’t hold it against you if you don’t!

    1. THANK YOU!! And ahhhh, BLUE IS MY FAVORITE TOO (mostly because of PJO ha-hahahaha)!
YES! AND I CONGRATULATE YOU ON YOUR SUCCESS!
      RIGHT??? SO GLAD YOU AGREE!!!
I AM drowning in wrap ups but I SHALL DEFINITELY VISIT YOURS, in fact i’m currently on my way right after i type this haha but i thank you for your kindness!

  13. What beautiful graphs you have!!?? I didn’t realise I could look forward to graphs so much until I joined the blogging community ahah! (yes, the community absolutely destroyed my TBR as well, what even is rereading??) Speaking of which, the end of the year is a great time to be a book blogger. The end of year posts and all the excitement for 2022 books, it is just fabulous!! I am loving that you are having your contemporary moment– they are joy, joy is them. I promise I won’t tell fantasy! ? Reading this post I am kind of getting the impression you read some books to scream over ?? I clearly need to read them. I can’t believe I haven’t gotten to strange the dreamer yet !! Some books were definitely added to my TBR here!! also, yes I dislike Alice in Wonderland too. It put me off classics for far too long ? All the best for 2022 ? and wonderful post, of course ?

    1. THANK YOU, MY GRAPHS APPRECIATE IT AND SEND YOU ALL THE LOVE!! ❤❤
ahahahahah, EXACTLY I CAN RELATE SO MUCH! YES, 100% AGREE (haha, i should have thought of that to add in the list, but ahh i’m dumb ??)

YES, I DID. I DEFINITELY DID. AND YES, YOU NEED TO READ THEM. because i am not as kind and like to threaten people with knives to their throat if they do not go along with my recommendations so I’M WARNING YOU – BETTER SAVE BOTH OF US THE TROUBLE AND READ THEM ASAP ?
ahhh yes, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO SHARES MY HATRED OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOO! but that was very rude of it ?? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS LOVELY COMMENT SOPHIE, IT MADE ME SO HAPPY! ❤❤
Hope 2022 is amazing for you!! ❤❤

  14. Okay so I need to read Red Queen to find out what happens with the ending after your comments. I did start it a few years ago actually and was enjoying it but then I stopped for no reason /: I also need to read Strange The Dreamer because I’ve heard such lovely things and added the series I have read by the author.
I kind of did the reverse with contemporary. I used to read it loads and now I hardly ever do, unless it’s a YA mystery too. I need to start picking them up again!! One of the blacklist series I want to get read are To All The Boys… (the others being Raven Boys & Discovery Of Witches)

Well done on reading 90 books, that’s amazing!! I know it’s less than your goal but it’s incredible still.

My favourite books of the year were All Of Us Villains, Addie LaRue, Chain Of Iron & so many more.

I hope you have a wonderful new year and manage to find lots more fantastic books to read. I look forward to finding out if you read more fantasy or contemporary this year too.

    1. YES, YOU DO! Tell me what you think of it when you read it, I cannot wait to hear your opinions! AHHH YES, STRANGE THE DREAMER! YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD READ IT!! THE WRITING!! IS!!! GORGEOUS!! Ahh, so glad to hear that! I haven’t read the other series, but i really want to! It makes me even more excited now that you said you loved it!
AHHAHAHA BUT I’M STILL GLAD I’M NOT ALONE! I’m currently reading Raven Boys and oh my gosh, IT’S SO GOOD! Hope you love all of them!!!
      THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
all of them are going straight to my TBR! So glad you loved them all!!!!
THANK YOUUUU! I hope you have a wonderful 2022 and discover loads of new favorite books too!
      (hahahah, THE SUSPENSE)

      1. Sorry for not replying sooner, I never got a notification about you responding for some reason.
Will do ? I’m not surprised as it was gorgeous in Daughter Of Smoke & Bone too. And I’ve seen a lot of rave reviews about it as well. So glad you loved it though. Can’t wait to read more of the author’s gorgeous writing ?
Aww I hope you get to check it out soon then and love it just as much.
Thanks, I’m so looking forward to finally reading it. And glad that you loved the series so much.
Ooh I hope you end up enjoying them too then. Let me know what you think of them
Thank you. Tbh I have no idea how I’ll get even half of my most anticipated read ?

Ijust started reading ebooks and my eyes are against it ofcourse but physical ones are so expensive i cant ask my parents to buy them every month. So e books it is this year ??
And what to do, i started reading WEBtoons…but no regrets.

    1. Ahh hiii!
      AHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Yes I 100% agree to that, physical books are definitely superior BUT LIKE SO COSTLY AGH!

AHHH I FEEL SO HONOURED THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Cannot wait to hear what you think of them! ❤️❤️

  17. Im pretty new to webtoons. Currently im reading unOrdinary, sweet home, and also the webtoons from hybe, dark moon etc. I liked death:rescheduled too, …its really frustrating to wait for another week to read one episode. My fav atm would be unOrdinary cz it already has 250+ free eps so i don’t need to wait.

    1. ooh i haven’t read any of those, but am checking them out! YES, agreed, its like by the time the webseries finishes, we forget the beginning ?? haha, fair!

        1. I haven’t read many either, but some of my favorites:
          – My Daughter is a Zombie (PLS THIS ONE IS SO GOOD AHHHHH. the ending is a definite tear-jerker ??)
          – Toaster Dude (10/10 recommend for hilarity)
          – Mom, I’m sorry
          – My deepest secret (this one has a lot of triggers though, so tell me if you want a list)

Ahh that’s all i can remember right now!

              1. HEYYYYY
                I STARTED READING TOASTER DUDE!!!

                KSKSKSKSKSKS

                Its hilarious

idk whats up w my humour sense lol, i just luvv ittt

Idk but weirdly reading this and finding it funny makes me feel that I’m cool.

                L.O.L

This is the most non creative creative thingg.

But its going to bcome a daily pass series on 24 feb. Soo i got to finsh it before thatt.

                1. AHAHAHAHAHA I FOUND IT REALLY FUNNY TOO WHILE READING (does this mean i’m cool too?? ?)
LOL I 100% AGREE WITH ‘THE MOST NON-CREATIVE CREATIVE THING’ it’s the PERFECT way to describe it haha!!
ahhh hope you were able to complete it before then and loved the rest of it as much!!
